One of the most amazing and subtle beauties of riding powder is the absolute silence as you glide from turn to turn. Aside from your heartbeat and breath, there is a rare tranquility, almost like the sound of a seashell to your ear. Absolute peace.

When I experience this sensation I like to envision the shape of the snowboard beneath my feet and how it glides through the snow. I like to feel how the snow is pushed from the edges and how the shape cuts and glides as it reacts to the snow, terrain, and your body’s movement. From these moments new shapes and designs come into my mind and the process of new board creation begins.

Since 2010, my obsession with building unique snow craft has not wavered. This silent flight through powder has been my pursuit since the Spring Break experiment’s inception. Working closely with the CAPiTA design team for our second collaborative effort, I am confident to say we have created the most unique and well-crafted powder displacement vehicles in the world. Take a vacation from conventional snowboard design and try something new. With a soulful trip to the early days of snowboarding, CAPiTA and Spring Break present a line of hand-crafted surfboards for the snow. Conceptualized by Corey Smith and designed by CAPiTA, these beauties embody the heart of Corey’s garage built, oversized, plywood decks – but have been executed using the technology available in the best factory in the world. In fact, a lot of mad scientist R&D went into these bad boys at CAPiTA MFG to create an experience like no other. The thicker, more buoyant, ultra lightweight Surflite™ core combined with the new Surf Rocker profile and wide shouldered shapes, all work together to create zero-gravity float on top of the deepest pow. We cooked up a uniquely blended sidecut specifically designed for buttery smooth, soulful pow rips. This shape features a surf-inspired arch just past the inserts followed by a huge reverse blend zone and topped off with a ton of taper for ultimate floatation. Available in four unique shapes, the Spring Break will take you one step closer in the search for the perfect wave.
